First things first: Great work @Christopher 
Iām looking for a way to connect my solax inverter via ethernet and have it working in Home Assistant without mqtt.
The official solax integration for example does not make use of mqtt but use the api which is/was included in (old) pocketwifi firmwares.
Is the only way to connect a FreePocket Pincho 
to Home Assistant via mqtt at the moment or does an API also exist?
